Despite all that it said about witnessing, I find it very difficult to come up with a reason for talking about God most of the time. What I mean is, if I walk into a room and say,'Let me tell you about Jesus', people will think I'm crazy (thats what non-believers do sometimes, isn't it?), or completely ignore me. How do I get the message across. Back to school on (GMT) Monday, and I want to get people to heaven.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Part of being a Christian is dealing with people who ignore your message and think you're crazy. It comes with the territory! It can be tough overcoming the fear of looking silly, but if you pray about it, God will give you the strength!

But how will I manage to convert people if I just go up to them and say,'Let me tell you about Jesus, causing them to walk off? Surely I would be better off finding examples of their problems and using them to talk about Jesus- no theres an idea...divine inspiration just a moment ago, methinks

That sounds like a good start!
Also, if you just live your life the way God wants you to, not being shy about your faith but not forcing it on people, often they'll see your example and want to find out more about God!
