Talk about the Left Behind Series

Hi all!
I am currently in the middle of the famous Left Behind series. (I'm in the middle of "The Mark", book 8, right now). I'm just wondering how many other people out there is reading the series and what's your take on it? I'd like to get a great discussion going on it.

I haven't re-read the series in a little while, but I plan on doing so this summer. I think that it's an awesome series.

I've read the whole series. As far as writing, it's a decent series until the last 2-3 books, at which point the series is being s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d as far as it can go. As far as theology, I am not pre-trib, so I don't believe it will all happen in the way the series goes, but I did enjoy the books altogether.

Can someone tell me why Left Behind gives me nightmares but Freddy Krueger doesn't? Seriously, I have had nightmares from reading the books.

Maybe its because the events in Left Behind are very realistic and could happen and Freddy Krueger is obviously fake?

Ok all, now I'm deep into #9 "Desecration" and I am beginning to see how they're really stretching the plot. What, are they going to do only 1 plague every book from now on? They've already done the 1st bowl, there's only like 2 left, and yet there's 3 books left? And what's with Chaim's sudden personality change? I mean, I know that God changes us and makes us better, but come on! And the Carpathia character now ceases to be interesting. All, these complaints, and yet I can't put the book down...

Time to get back to it. I'll probably be onto the next book next time I post. I'm a fast reader and totally addicted to this series. (I'll thank my church secretary who is loaning me the entire series for getting me hooked after I finish it.)

That cliffhanger at the end of Desecration is a shocker!!! I read the last page of Glorious Appearing and there's a slight cliffhanger... I read it and I was going ...

So far Armageddon has been very sad... Won't spoil it for you... Ugh! I wish I knew how to use spoiler tags!

I've read the series. Great and wonderful book. The movies, SUCK!!!Although the narrow escapes do get a bit old after a while. The prequel books are a sign that thay are trying to squeeze blood out of a stone.

Actually, I spoiled myself... Before I read Armageddon, I looked at the character list at the beginning of Glorious Appearing and there's a list titled "recently matyred"... So, I knew it was coming.

Anyways, I was thinking that even those the books were written within the last decade, the technology is vastly different. If they were written today, Tsion would have a 'blog' and regular 'podcasts'. Imagine what the Trib force could've done with camera phones! I remember there's one part where David is writing down the ten regions and their numbers, he could've used a camera phone. Or blackberries!

Anyways, does anyone know what the significance of 216 is? They keep mentioning it but they won't say what it is.
