Yes I do, because it has a very poetic nature about it involving grace, charity, and being against waste.
Not really.
You don't believe it anyway, so I'd just be wasting my breath -- (in a manner of speaking).
Wow.
Ditto for the widow of Zarephath, I take it?
I would like to try and convince me that your believe is worth following.
Yes.
Lol this is kinda funny that you rebuked me for hitting the nail on the head. That’s a bit hypocritical don’t ya think?
And this brings us right back to not actually believing what is written. So your evidence for poetic and proverbial writings is that you don’t believe it? How is that evidence of anything other than you not believing it?
Like I always say, truth is not subjective to personal or popular opinion.
If you can't get around your mental blocks, how can I?
That's just sad on ten different levels.
I actually did the math already because so many people were concerned about who Cain married from the city of Nod and if Adam & Eve had one child per year and 50% of them were male and the other 50% female and their children began having children of their own at one per year at the age of 15, by the time Adam was 130 years old they would’ve had over 10,000 descendants. I think it was around 10,600, can’t remember the actual number. So the idea that all of humanity, which is nearly 8 billion people, started all from just two people isn't poetic?

I think when you say “poetic” what you really mean is unbelievable. I think that’s the word you’re actually looking for.So the idea that all of humanity, which is nearly 8 billion people, started all from just two people isn't poetic? The story of Cain and Abel, the story that the two of the worst of human sins: murder and treachery, isn't poetic? The idea that God found the world so sinful, wiped it all out, then allowed a single family to start it all over again isn't poetic? The Tower of Babel isn't poetic?

Look everything you’re saying all falls into the same category, you don’t believe any of it and that’s why you say it’s “poetic”. There are indications in proverbial and poetic literature and the passages you’re referring to don’t have those characteristics. And what about the inbreeding that would have definitely resulted from the necessary incestuous copulation from brother and sister? Did you factor that in as well?
Plus, to get to 8 billion in the span of 6000 years, did you also factor that in too?

What do you want me to address? No I haven’t done the math for a population over a 6,000 year span because it would be impossible to know how long everyone lived or how many children they had. It’s an impossible equation which is why I’m sure you haven’t done it either. If they could go from 2 to over 10,000 in 130 years I see no problem in hitting 8 billion in 6,000 years. The poetic and the unbelievable very often go hand in hand. Care to actually try and address what I stated?

I get it, you don’t believe the Bible which is why you say there is no evidence. You don’t think the Bible is evidence, I think the Bible is proof. That the difference between our positions. My position is biblical and your’s is not. That’s what it boils down to.Even though they very much do have the hallmarks of proverbial and poetic literature, and there is not a shred of any evidence to back any of them up as having existed as the all encompassing events they're made out to be.

Lol this is hilarious because in order to know what the genetic code should look like if our population came from a larger pool you’d have to have a population that came from a larger pool to compare with, but you don’t so you can’t actually say what the genetic code should look like for a scenario that we CAN’T test. For the first part: any of them, all of them. Take your pick. This thread is already bad as it is. AV might as well close it or let it go to waste.
And with the second part, you hit the nail on the head. It is an impossible equation. Let alone the fact that we should, as a species, clearly have genetic markers for massive amounts of inbreeding that the Bible unfortunately says to have happened, which we don't, we would also have genetic bottlenecks from the Noahic Flood and before that Adam and Eve to show that our population came from such tiny numbers. But the evidence does not show that.
