Okay, so it is metaphorical then, and not literal? And Adam and Eve passed away well before Jesus came to save everyone, so the rules post Jesus weren't in place prior to this I thought? how does that work?No friend I said that they did "surely die" that day. They became separated from God. Left unresolved they would have spent eternity separated from God in hell. As will everyone who is not reconciled back to God through the One who was to come.

Ah, and you agree that genesis 2 says that animals were made after humans. It's obvious to me.

I think you will change your mind if you read Deuteronomy. It is obvious that this has nothing to do with recognizing our sinful state and putting our faith in Christ for eternal life, and everything to do with following rules to get God's blessings on earth.God's plan of salvation has never changed. It always has been in faith looking to the Holy One of God. Before He came they were trusting in the prophesied One to come. After He came those who are saved trust in the One who came. The Law of God was given as an object lesson to teach us that we have no ability to measure up to God's standard on our own. It was like our school teacher to show us to the foot of the cross. It reveals that we all tell lies, take things that aren't ours, have adulterous murderous hearts, commit idolatry, and blasphemy. We all deserve every second of an eternal hell. But God planned from the beginning to send His only Son to die in our place that any one who would place their trust in Him would exchange their sinful life for His righteous one.
If creationism is true, why do all nonavian dinosaur fossils date older than 60 million years ago, and all Hunan fossils less than 1 million? You got questions, I got answers.
Do you date the age, or the history? If creationism is true, why do all nonavian dinosaur fossils date older than 60 million years ago, and all Hunan fossils less than 1 million?
Yes.Do you date the age, or the history?
Thank you!I missed these forums, and you Av1611vet

In my opinion, yes.toolmanjantzi said:Anyhow. If a pastor says Genesis 1:1 Is Hebrew poetry and is not Orgins of Creation, are they a false teacher?

So, the Jews (the originators and keepers of the old testament) don't agree with you that the prophesised One has come yet. From Christian messianic prophecies - Wikipedia :God's plan of salvation has never changed. It always has been in faith looking to the Holy One of God. Before He came they were trusting in the prophesied One to come. After He came those who are saved trust in the One who came.
speak for yourself....The Law of God was given as an object lesson to teach us that we have no ability to measure up to God's standard on our own. It was like our school teacher to show us to the foot of the cross. It reveals that we all tell lies, take things that aren't ours, have adulterous murderous hearts, commit idolatry, and blasphemy. Surely an all-omnipotent being could come up with a better way than having to sacrifice living things in a blood-lust or burnt offering like fashion? For example, why not just institute the same system used in Heaven, I assume those in Heaven are still themselves (i.e. not robots) having free will and all?But God planned from the beginning to send His only Son to die in our place that any one who would place their trust in Him would exchange their sinful life for His righteous one.
This is all new testament writings, what reference is there in the old testament that all this would change? Before He came a ceremony of animal sacrifice was performed as a way of demonstrating their faith in the One true Sacrifice to come. After He came we no longer needed to perform this kind of a ceremony. It says in Romans 10:9&10 how to be saved. We demonstrate our faith in Him by making and confessing Jesus Lord of our life, and in our hearts believing in the resurrection.
I'm not sure of any writing that proposes one person's lucid dreaming as a fact that's yet to happen. It doesn't make any sense to average people like myself that haven't been drawn into the elaborate indoctrination required to believe this, and thus it isn't any evidenceNot so, since Jesus was crucified in God's mind from the foundation of the world.
Reading all of Revelation 1 to 22 (including 13:8 in context) seems to read as someone with a spectacular imagination writing to the time (I can't help but notice the entire world consists of the middle east & part of Asia where Rome is apparently still the one & only world power and Babylon is still in place and full of hedonistic non-believers and believers of other long-dead religions?) and speaks of 7 different churches (instead of the tens of thousands around today) so it doesn't really makes sense now we are a global species, I have to imagine you've been indoctrinated into this line of thinking that it applies to the modern world because this seems to only apply to the ancient middle east.Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, (anti-Christ) whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb (Jesus) slain from the foundation of the world.
None of these verses support your far-fetched interpretation. It takes the agreement of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to "create" a new creature in Christ. Gen 1:26 Gen 5:1-2 and John 14:16
I don't know why you quote these verses as if they support your "unique" interpretations, but none of them do. So I still have to say my question remains unanswered. Could you explain why these support what you say?Adam and Eve were "created" by God the Trinity after Cain killed Abel. Genesis 5:1-2 They lived for 930 years AFTER they were born Spiritually before they went to be with Jesus. 2Co 5:8
Hold it right there cowboy. None of those quotes is from Deuteronomy, as I had asked. Yes, of course, I am aware of what the New Testament says about the law. My point is what the law says about the law. If you read Deuteronomy you will see something quite different.I don't think I will change my mind.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. -Rom. 3:20
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. -Rom. 3:28
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. -Gal. 2:16
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. -Gal. 3:11
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. -Gal. 3:24
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. -Gal. 5:4
I could go on and cite hundreds of passages like these. Basically the entire New Testament explains that the law was given for no other reason but to reveal our sin.
That is not what Genesis 1 says. It says humans were created on the sixth day after animals. Genesis 2 differs, saying animals were after the first man ( but before the first woman).Adam was first made on the 3rd Day. Gen 2:4-7
God (Trinity) made the eternal creatures on the 5th Day. Gen 1:21
Lord God/Jesus made the common ancestors from the ground at the beginning of the present 6th Day and Adam named them. Gen 2:19
What is interesting is that AFTER Jesus fashioned ALL living creatures, like a Potter molds the clay....He then made the first woman, Eve. Gen 2:22 He made her so beautiful, He knew she would tempt Adam with her beauty. It's the same today.

Thank you! You too!Happy New Years, AV.
Yes ... they date the layers according to what's found in them.doubtingmerle said:Have you come up with an explanation for why it is that every time we find a nonavian dino fossil the layers date to be older than 60 million years old, but every human fossil dates in the last million years?
That is not what Genesis 1 says. It says humans were created on the sixth day after animals.
Genesis 2 differs, saying animals were after the first man ( but before the first woman).
So why are so many Bible-believing Chsitians telling us that it was the incarnate Jesus of Nazereth who wrote scripture?False, since the Holy Spirit IS the Author of Scripture.
So was St. Paul then, who believed that Scripture was written by men, divinely inspired men.You are so confused you seem to think that men authored Scripture.
So you can tell if a person is saved in Christ by whether he believes in the literal inerrancy of Genesis? That if he only believes that Christ is his savior then he is not saved?See what I mean? It takes the agreement of the Trinity to create a new creature in Christ. Those who have NOT been created Spiritually are NONE of His.
