Taki is a member of a race known to most of the world as "The Ranae." The race is native to the thick marshlands of Gorganta, where humans have only somewhat recently ventured. Somewhat small and a bit thin, the Ranae are known primarily for their ability to quickly traverse any terrian, from thick forest, to mirky swamps, to open water--The Ranarian is a quick little fellow who can breathe underwater, swim faster than nearly any sentient, and cling to nearly any surface. Some humans who have dealt with them have begun to call them "frogs," due to their buggy eyes, webbed extremities and skintone that often reflects a greenish tint of brown.
The name "Taki Fritz" literally means "Fruit and Fizz." It was given to him apparently with a two fold meaning, referring not only to his enjoyment of the drinks of a fizzy-fruity nature, but also to his own unpredictable nature. Taki is about 4' 5'', 90 lbs, and unbelievably nimble. His incredible dexterity almost makes up for his endangering curiosity and almost crippling absent-mindedness, not to mention an occasional dash of kleptomania. One minute, he's miraculously sneaking inside a dungeon to get his friends out of a jam, the next minute he's about to kill them all by pulling a lever he's not supposed to touch. Taki is an asset to any group of adventurers, but only if he can be watched and taken care of.
Combat concerns
Taki is a good scout, and he'd make a better assassin if he could keep his mind on what he was doing. He's pretty good at sneaking around, as long as he keeps his mind focused on his objective and avoids shiney objects that so easily get his attention. His abilities to swim anywhere, stay submerged indefinitely, and climb fortress walls do come in handy.
However, he doesn't make much of a line fighter. He doesn't have a very strong arm, though 30 weak blows can be as good as one strong one, and his livelihood in a fight depends expressly on his ability to swerve quickly away from blows. This style might do relatively well in an all-out kill or be killed situation, but it is somewhat less than sufficient at times to form a line and stop a certain entity. Taki can take care of himself in a melee, but he doesn't take stands very well...instead, he jumps around, rolls, ducks, makes annoying noises...
He's a rather effective archer, if he doesn't shoot his friends in the process. He's not the greatest marksman in the world, and his bow isn't very heavy, but he can put a lot of arrows in the air in a short amount of time.
Other personal qualities
As far as Taki's past is concerned, this is a bit of a mystery. He can use human technology proficiently, so it's pretty evident that he's spent a fair amount of time outside Gorgata, perhaps as a slave on a diving ship. The more intelligent of his friends have derived that he might have even been a member of some performing company, as many of his compulsive mannerisms seem to reflect training in juggling and acrobatics. Where Taki comes from may be inevitably lost, however...it seems that he has a fierce case of amnesia. His friends found him roaming the streets of a human city, swiping food and muttering. His age is also unknown, although he is obviously rather young.
weapons of choice: short bow, small or large knife. Makes occational use of a blowgun for espionage, and prefers two shortswords when stuff gets tight. Rarely uses a shield unless he's hiding behind it, and might be caught wearing light armor, if anything at all besides a loincloth.
