Assad is in Moscow after fleeing Syria and will be given asylum, Russian state media report
Russia was a key ally of Assad's regime - the former president and his family will now reportedly get asylum there.
With the collapse of Hezbollah in Lebanon (due to Israelis) and with the promise not to butcher Christians the Muslim rebels led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) (A designated terrorist group) have now replaced Assad (Russia and Iran) as the protector of the church in Syria.
