Symptoms

I've heard these are symptoms...Any of these familiar ya'll? Am finally asking this

*Swallowing which causes me to clear my throat alot

*unconsciously humming

Are there others to look for? I'm asking bcause I don't have absolute rituals, but wonder if I could be Pure 'O'.

For me, I have had various somatic symptoms that have changed over time. When I was younger, I had a tick (blinking), or contracting my muscles, on one side, then another. If I touched something cold with one hand, I would "have to" do the same with the other. I would tap a specific rhythm until I had it "right" and then do it faster and faster. And, of course, the hand washing. These are just a few of the rituals I had. This does not include all of the "thoughts" that were my bigger concerns that ultimately led me to seek treatment.

sounds to me like you have weird habbits, do u absolutely feel like you have to do them or do you just do them?

either way it s good to bring this before the Lord and ask Him to snip it at the bud, just give it into the Lords hands and see if you can stop doing it, the Word tell us many times about self-discipline so it wont be bad for you, it is OCD or not y should it bother you?
but if u just do it and it doesnt bother you, and its not like you have to do it then I would just stop for my own peace and bring it before the Lord that He would watch over you, oh the GREAT KING JESUS!

What you're talking about could be symptoms, the next question would be whether or not they get in the way of you accomplishing other things during the day. So they interupt your work or school? What about your social life?

Yes my thoughts interrupt my life a fair bit. I originally felt I had Social Anxiety, but now I wonder how much or a problem Obsessive thoughts are for me.

Every once in a while dh says you ask too many questions. You need to make decisions for yourself & don't need to be so indecisive. I think this behavior has caused me trouble at jobs I've had in the past, but I didn't know these could be symptoms. Sure wish I had

Does this sound familiar too though? I know someone said that not being able to make a decision you feel so frustrated that you just quit what you're doing & the work goes undone. I can understand that.

Doubting yourself to the point where you can't make an effective decision sounds like an ocd problem. I have experienced this in the past. It's tough. Pray for confidence. Are you getting professional help?
