  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey guys!

What's the sweetest/kindest/cutest/most romantic thing your partner has done for you?

The other day was really cute. My boyfriend phoned me but I didn't know it was him. I picked up and said "Hello?" and there was silence.

Then I heard the sound of someone pressing the buttons. Beep beep beep. I heard them being pressed 8 times.

Then there was a silence. He said "I just typed "I love you"

Awwwwwwww

I couldn't be mad after that...

Guess what Byootaful. I love flowers too, although somehow I don't think my boyfriend has understood how much until last Friday, my birthday.

I'd told him I would like flowers. I was pretty sure he'd get some for me, but I was just expecting a bouquet from Wal-Mart...not a beautiful arrangment sent to my house from the florist shop! He wasn't with me when I walked in the house and saw them sitting on the counter, but I immediately called him and left him a voice message about how he'd far exceeded what I was expecting, and I told him I loved him. It just made me feel sooo special!

The cutest thing (so far) he did was Monday. He'd come by my house, and when I'd walked him out, he told me to turn around and wait while he got the rest of my b-day present out of his truck. He comes back and tells me to turn around. I see him standing there grinning, with his hands in his pockets. I'm like, where is it? He tells me to reach in his pocket, so I try a front one, but he says no, his back pocket. And in it he'd stuck a box-set of Lion King 1 and 2 soundtracks, which I'd mentioned about 100 times I wanted. I thought that was pretty cute!

The kindest thing he ever did was actually the moment I realized I loved him (but didn't tell him then). I remember it was a Thursday. The next day my grandma, with whom I live, was going to have surgery on her shoulder. He and I went to have lunch and walk around at a park. I was talking to him about how I was going to have to be helping more around the house, and I was kinda nervous about Grandma's surgery and taking care of things while also having school, and not being able to spend as much time with him either for awhile. He just gave me a big hug and held me, told me not to worry, that God would be with us in it. That he was here for me, to call him at any time at all, and he'd be there. It just meant so much to me when he said that. It's still hard for me to explain why it did, and why that moment signified me realizing I loved him.

And I do love my Joe! :D

Something sweet just happened last night! My bf surprised me with candle light dinner. And he even made dinner and a pumpkin pie and got wine, and flowers (lol!!! Flowers in every post). And he dressed up real spiffy even though it wa just the two of us. I thought that was just so very sweet and wonderful.

ok, this doesn't involve flowers, but I like it all the same ;)

sometimes my fiance sends me emails while I'm at work at night. (I'm a nurse) I love getting them, cuz I know he's thinking about me. I usually email him every night I'm at work unless it's a really crazy night, so that's nothing special, but when he emails me it's great! :)

Here are a couple of mega-sweet things that took me by surprise:

- Lauren's given me some rather fab gifts, such as a framed photo of us from her birthday and a plastic tumbler full of mini M&Ms (which are nearly my fave chocolate :yum: )
- Her new mobile phone has video editing capabilities, so she sent me this wonderful little video that had a couple of photos of a bunch of flowers I'd given her and herself, with a musical background being me singing a nonsense song to her ver the phone (how she recorded it I'm not sure yet ^_^)

I told him that I read in a book that if we always had that "in love" high, our nervous systems would not be able to take it. I remember he tipped his head back and said "Daddy (his name for God), you're burning out my nervous system!"
That was...hmm...about two years ago. Our one year wedding anniversary is next month. And he is still incredibly sweet.

Probably the sweetest thing my girlfriend's done for me (at least, this one is what jumps to the top of my head), was for my last birthday (last May). You see, the thing was that I had never (due to the weather) seen her in a skirt or a dress. I had mentioned it to her once before. So I drove over to her college to go pick her up on a Friday, and there she was standing there all "dolled up" (as she puts it) with her hair done real nicely and wearing a beige top that looks wonderful on her, and a spring print skirt.

She was real puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurdy. :)
