CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd love to come into contact with other young liberal Christians. Where I live all the Christians are either evangelicals or very old. I'm 42. I'd love to meet people my own age

Yes, I live in Sweden. I'm not sure what national background means. But I've got a Scottish ancestor way back. But the rest is all Swedish. Have tracked the family roots back to 1520. I now live in the south of Sweden. I work at the IKEA head office at Helsingborg. I moved down from Stockholm.
I was sort of active in the church of Sweden in Stockholm. But since moving I haven't really connected much with anybody down here. There are Christians down here, but would be fun to find somebody my age I can connect with.

By national background, I was just referring to the possibility that you live in another country other than Sweden, but are still Swedish. But as you've explained, you're thoroughly Swedish. In which case, again, I bid you welcome to CF, from overseas and yonder.
I imagine it's tough living in an area where churches, and a substantial Christian presence, aren't plentiful. I'm sorry to hear that this is the case for you. But, at least you can connect here at CF, and being that your English is very good, you'll have lots of opportunity to converse.
As for myself, I'm in the U.S. and not too much older than yourself. So, if you want to chat, feel free to do so, brother. Also, since I have an educational background in philosophy, I'm fairly open to discussing a wide array of viewpoints, even though I count myself more as one who leans toward "conservative" values. Although, in some ways, I've been called 'liberal' by other, fellow Christians.
So, what's on your mind, DZ?
