I'm sure ya'll have noticed over the years how often the name "Jesus Christ" is used as a cuss word. But not once have I heard Bhudda, Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Mohamed, Allah, etc. used as a cuss word. Why? Because satan hates the name of Jesus. He doesn't care about the rest. I suggest that we mention that to our unbelieving friends and coworkers. Tell them to think, why only the name of Jesus?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i've heard people swear with other ones. generally speaking though, you are right, its just the name of Jesus that is a swear. along with the f bomb. my brother drops a lot of f bombs let me tell you what!
but let me ask you this, do other people care about Jesus? he's practically just a name to them anyway. so although you may tell them about your theory, and who knows maybe you will sway some people into christ with it! so go ahead!

The name of Jesus is the only name that will offend people. The other names the world praises. People get offended when they see Christians thanking the Lord for the food they are about to eat.It will get worse before it gets better folks.

well, lets be honest. the muslims terrorists will kill buhdists as soon as christians, and some people think all religion is the same and treat it as such.
that being said, Jesus makes them more angry becuase he's real, but you can't really say Jesus is the only one people take offense too.

Let me rephrase my post because you are right. More people get their back up at the mention of Lord Jesus than at other names.

My pastor at bikersforchrist.org has been mentioning this for years about why do people use the name of Jesus to curse and no body else's name. It is a very good point.
