  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

No, I don't. However, I'm straightforward at times.. I will tell it how it is. So occassionally a "bad" word suits the context of the conversation.

I've never heard my girlfriend say a "bad" word.

I think what bothers me more than anything if I hear God's name being misused. I'd rather hear you cuss up a storm than to take God's name in vain.

i used to have a real problem with swearing.
I dont slip up much any more
but as long as i dont take the Lords name in vain
i really feel its mostly harmless
they are just words, its the emotions behind them that could be sinful/disrespectful

I try not to say things that are disrespectful, especially to my wife.
but im not perfect

I used to never swear, but then I some how got a very filthy mouth. Now I am slowly losing it. One thing I try to never do is take the Lords name in vain.

She never swears and yells at me when I do.

I hope to brake my habit soon... I have already reduced it quite a bit, but I do slip, so I am not there yet...

yes we both do. . .sadly. I used to be real bad about it up untill about a year or so ago but i've cut back alot sense then and now it only slips when im really stressed / angery and i never use the Lords name. She never uses the lords name either but she uses more language than i do. . .BUT she recently rededicated her life and she's starting to cut back too and appologizes alot when it does slip but she has alot of not-so-christlike friends who dont help the situation any but she seems to be working on that too. . .but hopefully i'll be ably to put a no/no on a Q like this soon!

I try not to.. but I do occaisionally...

I swear less now that I'm not around friend in highschool who said stuff frequently... I've never been a HUGE user of profanities... but when you hear people swear enough it leaks to your subconsious reflexes - which would be more why i swore alot more during my school years than i do now.

I honestly can't stand being with a guy (whether it's my boyfriend or just a friend) who swears, not even once in awhile. I personally find those words really sick and when I hear it, I feel like it hurts my innocent ears. ^^

To answer your question, I cannot date a guy who swears. Obviously, I don't swear. I've been a Christian since I was six so I've always been taught that swearing is wrong. I might have the swearing problem if I hadn't become a Christian early though.
