  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Swallowing Gum

Had a little scare today. My 3-year-old is always into everything.. We've had to really go out of our way to keep her from killing herself.. Well today she got into trouble again. She opened my bag and took out a full pack of gum and emptied it. (It's not a regular sized pack, it's pretty big.) When I found the empty pack I was scared to death because I thought she ate it. I've heard that you can't "pass" gum, it just collects in the stomach. Not sure if that's true. But I was relieved to find a giant wad of it in a garbage can so apparently she didn't swallow it. What I'm wondering is, if she had swallowed it, should I have taken her to the ER? Or does gum really "pass" after all? lol

Don't worry about it; she'll poop it out just like everything else.
