  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It's a pleasant world when you're out shopping and someone spends some time and interest, particularly an interesting, beautiful and charming someone, even if they are on the sales staff and you'll likely never see them again as that seems to be the way the world works. It was a really pleasant time, though, talking about different periods of architecture ranging from the colonial to the victorian, decorating, gourmet food.... So thanks, Andrea! May God bless what comes to you.

Well, in truth, I did truly have some other items under consideration - a cedar chest, a chaise lounge or loveseat, and a new bedframe and headboard (pretty much picked out). I came to the conclusion that lacking a wife it's time for me to refurnish the house to some point beyond the early bachelor period... and this store is the second-largest showroom in the country. My economy gene may make it a few weeks, though.

I guess I'm more cynical when it comes to sales people. To me, it sounds like she was laying the groundwork for a sale. But, it's still nice when someone is nice, no doubt.

See, that's what it's gonna take. Once you get your house all furnished and put together the way you like it, you'll meet a woman with completely different tastes. Kinda like rain always coming after you've washed your car, or people who give away the highchair and carseat because they're not planning on having any more kids ... not that this theory has worked for me yet, but the first time I saw my ex's living room I knew it would take some major compromising if we ever had to decorate a house together - and I think he had similar feelings upon seeing mine! Silver linings ... :D

Good going Keil. She enjoyed hanging with you. When I worked retail a pleasent customer is a God send. Most of my customer were always compaining about something. This was not right that was not right. If anything keep her name and buy stuff from her a pleasent sales person and a good customer makes for a good thing.

i always like moments like those--little sometimes where you have such a nice, warm, lovely interaction with a complete stranger. sadly for me, if it's a guy who's really cute, i get either a). bashfull and have a hard time even looking at him or b) really aloof and distant. so i guess i'm not participating in the lovely interactions w/other people. need to stop feeling so insecure. just smile, right?

Well, there were a couple of moments... it's a practice thing. :^)

Don't worry about me being sold a brand new house of furniture, guys - I enjoy talking to folks wherever I go, but I keep my head on straight.

If it's God's will that I marry after a new house of furniture, I'll survive and praise Him! 'tWould be a shame, though, after decorating a house in the eclectic style of a moderately successful sea captain somewhere between 1790 and 1870...

You may have to wait a while, given that I'm currently buying on the plan of what can fit into a single-person's retirement apartment in 35 years or so. I plan to keep my house and avoid that situation, but given that I currently have no children to support me in my old age... and no volunteers to help expand the family... Pray for my investments! :^)
