• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would like to be a part of a prayer/support group for people with schizophrenia. I really want support from other people who have gone through the same thing. I first started having mental health issues in 2013. Since then I have been on several medications and nothing seemed to work. That is until I switched doctors and the new one switched and upped my meds. Now I don't have those bad thoughts like I use to. They use to be 24-7 all day. Now I may have a bad thought here or there. I'm really thankful for the medication and 2 small groups I attend that have really helped the thoughts go away. I think that the small groups have helped tremendously but I don't talk to them about my diagnosis. They are just Christian small groups where we fellowship and pray. I would like to be a part of a group that has a similar mental health condition and knows what I've been through. I'm a lot better than where I use to be but I want to be healed completely and maybe someday get off the meds. Thank you.

well all this time i thought i was schizophrenic but only recently did they officially diagnosed me as schizoaffective so i should know a little of what you are going through. i have had all this time ever since my diagnosis in 2005 voices, racing thoughts, and paranoia all literally mentally and then which means physically painful in the process of course as well. i would like to someday get off my meds as well but i may not have that for the rest of my life. through time, you will have been trained with personal ways you have for yourself in using coping mechanisms if you haven't already considered that. the skill in such strength found in us makes us somewhat of warriors i suppose, heh. it makes us formidable and versatile. just trying to encourage you to feel strong about all this. i hope you will eventually feel comparable to yourself where you were where you were at originally and regain everything you once had.
