• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am considering joing their quit smoking site but I really wanted to join in with christians who are going through this struggle and who have definate steps to take to quit including prayer. I stumbled on this part of the forum and didn't see much along that line....so...

I was wondering if anyone wanted to join with me in prayer and ACCOUNTABILITY with each other on this topic and offer each other support. We could come here daily and pray and honestly report on our struggles and accomplishments in this area?? Any takers??

I'll begin. I plan to begin to quit on Monday June 20. With fasting and prayer and basically cold turkey. I will report here on my progress and also post anything I feel is laid on my heart.

I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. Being in college, we are winding down the summer and getting ready for the fall and it has really been a busy time.

I have still been praying and fasting and I have cut down alot!! But still not completely quit. But I know God will remove this from me. I have smoked a long time and I am concerned about my health and also I want to do things for God and I don't want a cigarette hanging out of my mouth doing it!! So lets continue to pray and lift each other up.

Kristen, you are an inspiration. I am getting there girl. I will be doing alot of fasting this week and praying. I will keep you all posted. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I am also changing my diet as well and I am going to begin walking and doing some exercise. I went to the doctor and lost close to 20 pounds in the last 6 months and I feel energized but the cigarettes are a hinderance. So keep me in prayer.

I woke up this morning and I did not even want a cigarette!!! I dressed and headed off to school before I lit up. But that is going to change soon. Soon I will not even have the desire. Keep praying for me and God bless you all.

Congrads on your cutting down. I am a 24 year long smoker that has been smoke free now for 21 days. Everyday there are still moments when I think about smoking but less and less with each passing day. There is something daily that happens stressful that makes me consider smoking but I have been able to resist so far and pray I am able to stay victorious in this fight. I stand on His word Phil 4:13 on a daily basis
