CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This cut makes no sense. It's Superman 2 with the Superman 1 ending. Superman Returns is supposed to follow this Richard Donner cut, but how did Lois get pregnant? Superman reversed time by flying around the Earth backwards and undoing the whole movie, hence he never had sex with Lois, hence she can't be pregnant. And he reversed time to right before the phantom zone mirror was shattered by the shockwave off the nuke from Superman 1, but it never shows what he did with the nuke instead of throwing it into space, so we assume he did the same thing, Zod got out again, and the movie repeats itself for eternity. It was not very well thought-out in my opinion.
It's worth a watch, but I prefer the original theatrical cut.

I really liked the scene where lois is drawing glasses etc. on a pic of clark in the paper then jumps out. That cracked me up.
And I also found the exploding rocket as a way to to open up the phantom zone cool too.
Are you sure about that. From what I read it took after the regular cut.
Well another question is, if they did stay with the regular version, he made her forget about it all with the kiss. So wouldn't she be wondering how he impregnated her?
Actually, I enjoyed this much more. A few things I disliked such as the time reversal trick again. And I did NOT like how the 'general, would you care to step outside' got changed to something that totally hurt that scene. I can't ever remember the exact words he used but I know I didnt care for it.

See part two below.Part two: Precisely. We have two versions of the movie. In one, everyone forgets everything that happened. In the other, everything that happened was erased by Superman going back in time. Either way, the movie was null and void. That belittles the movie and makes it irrelevant. What took place during that time period the second time around? Who knows? Bad writing, IMO.

That was cool...until it was undone by Superman reversing time, so it never really happened anyways. Lame.
I enjoyed both versions, but both versions ticked me off as well. They could have been so much better with a few minor changes.

I really dislike the entire aspect of reversing time in there. I mean anytime something goes wrong, just go back in time. Heck, all he had to do once the villains tried to make their mark on our planet was go back and this time around make sure they never escaped or if not that, just be ready for them.
Another thing I liked was that the villains were more menacing in this one.
Here's that scene I hated where the words were changed for the worse.
