Well, I'm interested in politics as well, but I have very different views than you.
I am pro-choice, liberal, pro-freedom, pro-minority, pro-constitution (separation of church and state), and
ANTI-BUSH(!).
How can anyone be against separation of church and state? The government should not have the right to force religion on people, this is not a facist country.
Ocean, it is great to hear of your views. Although I need to let you know that you are CONSERVATIVE when it comes to Abortion. Liberal is a description of "change" from the norms and what they consider to be advanced. A Conservative view on this matter says that ALL life is sacred and should never be destroyed for "convenience". This is a "conservative" or a viewpoint of NO-Change on this matter from what our society histroically has believed.
Pro-freedom and Pro-Minority are definetely not different views from myself! I LOVE FREEDOM and the FREEDOM of this country and I support and love all people from any race. Again PRO-FREEDOM is a CONSERVATIVE viewpoint which is mine, where LIBERALs want a RE-DISTRIBUTION of wealth and goods to make everyone Equals. The liberal viewpoint sees equality as being far more important than peoples freedoms. I believe you are conservative on this matter also. ANOTHER thing, we may just not see eye to eye on what it means to be PRO-MINORITY . I do not believe the liberal mindset of WELFARE and massive amount of PUBLIC AID do any minority any good or ANYONE ANY GOOD. There are numerous stories of how once people GOT INTO the welfare system and they became dependant upon these funds, that they would LOSE THIS MONEY if they tried to do things to better themselves, THUS PRODUCING SLAVES TO THE WELFARE SYSTEM. This is what liberals and democrats, in general, purport. I believe in FREEDOM for MINORTIES and not in making them slaves to the welfare system.
FINALLY, and most importantly. "Seperation of Church and State" and the Constitution have nothing in common. Here is the problem with America, and that is that people actually believe this is a CONSTITUTIONAL PHRASE. I can guarentee you, Ocean, you will find this NO WHERE in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, or any other constitutional document. The founders of this country ALWAYS intended on religion to play a major part in peoples lives ((see my paper on this subject - I guarentee you will find it accurate and undisputable
http://www.patriotreview.com/church and state.shtml )).
And I in no way ever want anyone to be forced to believe in any religion. This is NOT WHAT I mean or am saying. This is a SCARE-TACTIC driven into people by the very people who want to FORCE RELIGION OUT OF OUR SOCIETY (now that's facism). I never would dare try and force someone to accept Christ, for I would most assuredly be held accountable for such a horrible act upon my death. WHAT I WANT is what the FOUNDERS INTENDED and that was for this Country to be free of Religious restrictions in our lives whether private or public. They were VERY PRO-CHRISTIAN and believed that this country would always be that way, but sought to make sure that NOBODY could either FORCE religion either PRO or CON --here is what the Bill of RIGHTS says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Now you talk about FORCING and FACISM but wont you agree that if I am FORCED NOT TO BE ALLOWED to bring my Bible to School or to have a prayer meeting with my friends that that is true FACISM and FORCING against Religion and AGAINST THE BILL OF RIGHTS!!! This is what I am against.
**Please do not think I am attacking you or your thoughts in any way, I am simply presenting my findings and firm beliefs, which ARE very different from what is taught in liberal schools throughout our country--which makes me all the more passionate and deliberate about these subjects. I seek only to inform.
Love ya and God bless!
