• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone,

I was thinking we really should have a weekly prayer thread going on for those who suffer from depression, anxiety, and fear.

Each Sunday we can start a new thread for the week.

Please join me each week. And if I forget to start it, please resume one in my absence.

:prayer: "Dear Lord,

Please help my brothers and sisters here at CF who suffer from depression, despair, unhapiness, and fear. Please help them find the strength and resources they need to help pull them out of their darkness. Let them be surrounded by your guidance and love. Help them take whatever steps they need to be healed and comforted. Please help them find hope - and let that hope travel into their lives.

Please help Jo, AflowerforGod, Miss-A, SuperKal, Myanchor ... and the many, many others who I have forgotten and have not mentioned that have posted on this Depression forum who suffer so much. Please dear God keep them in your loving arms. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." :crossrc:

Thank You, Abba, for this thread, this forum, for moving in Winter's heart to post. Please bring miracles into all our lives. Give us the faith of a child, and bring us back to life, resurrection life with the same power that raised Jesus from the grave, so that we will be trees of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, and use our lives effectively tp show the world Who You are and what You can do. Thank You that You love us and that You are answering this and all our prayers for healing, that you planned our lives, our purposes, and our deliverence before the foundations of the earth. In Jesus' precious Name, Amen

Please Lord, stay close beside us, even if we cannot find our way, your Word says that You are the Way. We are never out of Your sight, please walk with us in this darkness that surrounds us, let us know like the Apostle Paul that Your grace in sufficient, and we will boast in our weakness so that Christ's power may rest on us.
For when I am weak , then I am strong.

Father, hold each one here in Your arms this week. Be the light in the darkness of depression, the shelter from the storms of despair and the hope in the midst of hopelessness. Let all of us know Your presence with us in the darkest hours, the security of Your love in every circumstance. Touch lives with peace and comfort, and draw us closer to You every day
In the name of Jesus, Amen

Lord, thank You that we can call You Lord. Teach us to follow, to know the truth and be set free. Help us to believe You even when we can't feel you or hear You, and to trust that grace upon grace , You the Author and Finisher of our faith, are completing the good work You died on the cross so that we could live it out. Dear Father, God Almighty, the Most High, the only One, the only Way, give us Your strenth, Your joy, the understanding that You have a sovereign purpose in every struggle, that you are here with us, closer than a brother, caring about our broken hearts. Help us to remember that Your love for us is bigger than any trial that comes our way, and that nothing can come to us that is not Father-filtered. You know the number of hairs on the heads of every dear one on this forum. And You know our suffering and exactly how You will bring us through to the other side. Bless us Father, and help us to remember that blessing is Your goal, that in Your goodness You have allowed our trials and You will use every tear we have cried and all the broken places in our hearts to bring blessing into our lives and into the lives of others. Thank You that the greatest blessing is that You're bringing us closer to You. Help us remember in the difficult times that this is Your plan, to bring us into greater intimacy with You. Thank You that You watch us closely. Lead us. Comfort us. Heal us. Do miracles in our lives. Bring victory in each life. Strengthen our faith. Thank You. We ask this in Jesus' name and in the power of His sacrifice, resurrection, and victory. Amen

Lord, show those who feel unloved how very much You love them. Be the constant friend of the lonely and the comforter of the grieving. In the darkness of depression, Father, shine Your light. Be a shield against the lies and self-condemnation, lift the heads of the downhearted and strengthen the weary.
Let your peace rest on everyone here, Lord, and may this week be easier than last week
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Dad, thank You that You are Almighty and sovereign and that you love each one on this forum more than we can imagine. Thank You that You have chosen us for such a time as this and that you have gifted each of us with very special gifts. Help us to walk in those gifts. Peel the layers of depression, anxiety fear and woundedness away quickly and bring glory to Your Name in the healing. Heal all physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. Help us to forgive each and every wrong done to us. Help us to forgive ourselves for not being perfert. Provide what each of us needs in order to bring us as close to You as we can possibly be. And deliver us from the evil one, his lies, and the way he tries to take advantage of our broken hearts. You have come to bind up the broken hearted. Bind our hearts to Your truth, the future and hope that we have in You. Thank You for loving us. In Jesus precious Name. Amen

Hello Father

you know ...it says in the word that Jesus was a man of sorrows, aquainted with grief. While He walked here, He experienced these deep emotions.
In all ways He knows how it is to be a human being in this world which isnt heaven.

Comfort us with the truth.

That He is risen from the dead. He had a death to this realm and in HIs death on the cross , all pain, rejection, hurt, trauma, offenses, sins, aggressions, doubts, fears were hammered into His body and died in Him.

Thank you Holy Spirit sent by You Father, raised Him up into Life, free from all these.

Father let us know deep , and personal, His love , that is passionate towards us, to heal and comfort- not rushing or bullying us to receive , but rather, gentle and kind, sitting in the hole with us when we find ourselves there, going no-where , wanting to be there, liking us, loving us.

Just having Jesus , who suffered all we have, now risen, in us ,with us, because YOU so loved us Father... is THE comfort and releif in the darker days.

May we enjoy Him, so near and caring, by the fire in the home He makes in us, despite the cold storms that pelt the windows.

I love you
xxx

Father, Thank You so much for the new ones who have joined us this week and may they along with all of us move closer to Your heart this week, and may we remember the hope that you have written on ours. Thank You that You have a plan to work even our most painful experiences for good far beyond what we could ever imagine, that You are leading us, step by step theough this valley and that we will each in the end see victory and look in triumph over our enemy. ThanK You that You give us the victory, that weeping lasts only for a night, and joy comes in the morning. Please may the night pass swiftly and fruitfully. Thank You for loving us. Amen

WHOOPIE DOO ITS SUNDAY!!!

Praying Daddikins for all us here, your lovely childers ,who are hurting and healing with depression.

Father you are so very tender and gentle, unforced love and acceptance flow from your generous heart direct to ours...like an unblilical chord, you feed us.
sometimes we feel it, sometimes we dont, but you do look after your kids and you smile over them.

Generous loving Father, please communicate your tenderness -through songs, videos, voices/tones of speaking, film scenes... anything , use anything in Your creation to communicate your tenderness to us your beloved ones.

I wish Father you to loosen, at the roots ,the causes of each depression, all so different, and through tender care , in your skilled and careful attention, in your known time frame, heal and restore each one.

you are so personal, you know each of us so intimately, and you taylor the care accordingly.

such is your perfect Fathering.

There isnt any like you. you are the best.shower your affection on us Lord, please.

amen

Dear Abba,

Who ever the Son sets free is free indeed in His truth. I pray that we would all know your truth more than ever before, that Your freedom would rule in our hearts and lives. Strengthen us, arm us as the battle grow thick. May every word the enemy uses to try to decieve us be counters by one thousand of Your powerful words. Inundate us with Your truth, a knowledge of Your love, super strong belief in Your love for us and Your promises to us. May Your joy truly be our strength and may we know deep in our soul's that our weeping is only for a night, and when that night ends joy comes in the morning. Father, lead us to a swift morning. I pray for the day when You turn our tears into a healing balm for this lost and dying world, and I ask that you would bring it quickly.

Your will be done. May it be done to us according to Your word. Amen
