As we begin our tale, the king of a city is finding out about the world's current crisis - the slow depletion of all of the resources and water. He decides in a council with his Keeper of the Chronicles, Cordius, and his Captain of the Royal Guard, Lord Guenerre that they must assemble a small group to go into the deserted Wasteland to the east past the mountains. Fliers were posted, and the rpg begins.
As it opens, Lord Guenerre and the king's champion, Gabriel are in the city square at noon, waiting for the arrivals for the flier.
Arken (
Blaziken X), a mercenary in purple armor, finds his way in, and joins the line of people who wish to participate in the quest. A woman called
Kai (
cyberwing) causes a disturbance at the local inn, but the guards were told to bring her to the square instead, under command of the king's champion, who offers her freedom if she accompanies them on their quest. A young woman named
Sera (
Lady Knight) wanders into the town, and while looking for the stables runs into the meeting in the town square. A young man called
Azan (
Narmegil) finds his way into the town, and joins the line in the town square with the others.
Lord Artimis, the king's chief knight, and his two bannermen, ride into the square just past noon, and Artimis decides who there will accompany the party and who will stay, leaving a party of seven, and Gabriel and Guenerre take them to the main keep. In the main guardroom, a fight breaks out and Guenerre is sent to the dungeon. Once there, they discover that an assassin called
Mia Togin (
StarSplitter87) has come with a warrant for a member of the castle. The situation is resolved, and Gabriel tells her to accompany them or wait in the dungeon for the trial; she accepts the former.
They make their way through the armory, led by the Dwarf named Dhurdain, and attain the weapons that they need. A Minotaur named
Borrek Bloodhorn (
Paladin Dave) joins their party after being recruited by his elder, and then they all go to a private dining room to meet the king. Another fight breaks out, Gabriel and the King against the party and Dhurdain. Dhurdain is knocked out, but disappears as the fighting continues. Guards storm the room, but are later forced back by a squad of Dwarf gunmen.
