The purpose of life is not wealth and health.
I know many who have neither.
So far you haven´t even established that there is a purpose of life. Many people aren´t convinced there is such a thing.
I don´t think you are in the position to tell others what their purpose in life is or isn´t.

Logically, people in poor health and high poverty would have
higher rates of suicide. Have you established this, or are
you not using logic at all in this argument?

it's been said that "logically" poor people have higher suicide rates.
It this true or false?

Yes, but being without those can make one miserable. And there is no reason live in misery.

There are huge, huge benefits to suffering you only see
later.

If you're in intense pain, and there's no medical relief, then there's nothing illogical at all about suicide. Life isn't about length, it's about quality.

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Job 30:17 The night racks my bones, and the pain that gnaws me takes no rest.

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

I disagree. I think if a person is a certain age, is facing illness and poverty, suicide is very rational.

People who irrationally compare their circumstances with others
are the highest risk group. So you are the big winner!

later.

Possibly, if you survive. Or, on the Christian model, if you are in heaven.
(Any way I reckon it, I won't be.)

Having been matched to two new negative makers for my life expectancy recently, and being in pain, I'm not sure what these "huge, huge benefits" are supposed to be.

You never know until after. It helps if you look for the benefits, and you fail when you don't.

Live and learn?
Your decision.

Some suggestions might be nice.
Though I did manage to reduce a nurse to tears of laughter today. I call that a win.

I'll live until I don't.
Learning is getting tricky.
(I live with a thousand friends who are losing their ability to communicate with me.)
I'd prefer to be able to use what I've already learned, to help others.
