Hi Everyone,
I am just reaching out for support. I am still on painkillers for chronic ear pain as I heal from my sinus surgery. I made two AA meetings in the past few days. I call my sponsor regularly. Today, she apologized to me because she felt inadequate. She broke her ankle last week, and is in a lot of pain, and felt like she was not being of much help to me today. I assured her that my primary reason for calling her was to see if she was okay, and to just check in. I also assured her that just her being there was sufficient for me today. I plan to take her to a meeting on Thursday.
I am still anxious about being on the pain meds this time around. I am also concerned because I cannot go to work while on the meds, and I cannot work while in the extreme amount of pain I have been in at work. Kind of a Catch-22.
So, I am just putting my hand up and saying I am here, and I am sober. I will have two months of sobriety in about a week.
Hugs,
Trish

2 months is wonderful! You are doing all the right stuff! Remember to pray and ask God for His help to keep you sober. As long as the pain pills aren't abused and you don't give in to the first drink, you'll maintain your sobriety through this too. This too shall pass!
