One leads to peace, the other to destruction, strife and misery.
One will teach you love, the other will teach you hate.
The Devil will tempt you with things, worldly things, less spiritual, more earthly, and will try to make you think of yourself as god. God will offer you peace and love.
One will force itself on you, the other will be waiting for you to accept.

I don't think God would ask someone to commit a sin. He tested Abraham, but he never made him kill his son. He never made him sin. Sin seperates us from God, so why would God seperate us from Him?

Hope this helps.
In God's love,
IO

Gregg.... God is never going to ask you to sin. Nor will He encourage you to sin.

The True Spirit of God will help Believers to know what will be pleasing to God.

Perhaps, if you are able to share some specifics, we may be able to answer more specifically.

There is real Truth out there.
And, God wants us to know the Truth.
And, He wants us to follow the Truth.

Following God does often make others around us (non believers) very uncomfortable. We should expect this. Sometimes this causes hurt and pain, etc....

God will forgive us. Yes.
But, we should never purpose to sin, knowing that God will forgive us.

What He did at the cross, covers the punishment for past, present and future sin. That punishment being eternal hell.

There's your answer. God might have spoken to you, or demons might have been tormenting you --it doesn't make you any more or less spiritual if you heard it from one or the other. You just heard it. (Saw.. whatever.)

One time I heard that I was going to gain forty pounds. You can imagine I had a similar struggle -- why in the world would God tell me this!

And why would an evil spirit throw this out in the blue. It was the oddest thing, I decided that it was probably demonic, and went on my merry way.

A month later, I found out I was pregnant. Two months later, my doctor told me I needed to shoot for gaining 40 pounds instead of 30, because I was losing weight.

Kind of a quirky story, I don't know if that helps you. How I would test the purity of the message is whether I felt condemnation and fear, or whether I felt reassurance and comfort. That usually works.

Notice how you captalized "Satan" and not God. You should want to do all that you can to make God bigger in your life.

Our flesh loves sin, because the flesh is what Satan has charge over. When you increase in spiritual power you will be able to overcome sin more easily.

We are at war in our members, flesh against spirit. Which one that will control us is based on which one we feed. If you keep feeding the flesh the flesh will control. Feed your spirit the Word of God and your spirit will bring your flesh under subjection each time your flesh is coaxed to sin.

Gregg--

God is His Word - the Bible. Yes, its a spiritual decision but it also is a decision by intellect because there is overwhelming evidence that supports it. Since this email can't get real long - read Examine the Evidence by Muncaster (was an athiest but now a christian). And A Case for Christ by Lee Strobel (also was an athiest but now a christian).

The devil does the exact opposite of God's nature and yes, this is mentioned in the Bible. It also referred as mans fallen nature.

without His Spirit of Truth, His Holy Spirit, it will be hard for you to have the right wisdom and discernment to judge these kind of things. People usually judge only what they see, God judges the unseen. Sometimes His ways have included things don't seem so fun and good, but they have purpose and are to be done. Jesus' crucifixtion looks to many people like a big defeat, and many Muslims look at the Jesus death as an insult about God, they can't even get past that idea so often, so what man sees is not always the bigger picture.

You can have wisdom and discernment if you seek God wholeheartedly, and one way to learn more is reading New Testament, then all the Bible. And ask God for His Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth, then be a doer, 100% following God in good conscience. Without God, there is confusion, with Him, there is wisdom. Seek His written words daily too, they are extremely helpful.
