  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Munchy sounds cute!! Our cats are very silly, I have to hid anything plastic from them because they like to chew on plastic! Baby Face is our blind cat. He gets around like he can see(never goes outside)he loves to attack my daughter..just playing, but really rough. I think it's because she wrestled and played kind of wildly with him when he was a kitty. He doesn't really do it to me. I am the food giver!!!

LOL, I loveee these strange cat stories! I think all cats are strange. They are wonderful, intelligent creatures that we can never ever understand. I think that's a large part of their charm.

My cats are both very strange. Mike D. Catt "cleans up" after himself. After he eats he pushes all the stray kibble in a little pile on the table. Then he'll eat that. He only drinks out of the dog's water (not the cat bowl for him and Murphy.) He loves olives and will steal them if given a chance. Murphy D. Catt goes crazy for anything cold- ice cream, popsicles, ice cubes ect. He tries to "mount" :o stuffed toys and howls at the top of his lungs, just because he can.

My cat that I have now is pretty "normal". But I used to have a cat named Kojak that pretty much followed me where ever I went. I was in highschool at the time and he would even follow me to the bus stop. When I got off the bus in the afternoon he would wait on me. He was more like a dog in his loyalty to me. He would give eskimo kisses but only to me. To everyone else (or when he was mad at me) he would put his paw up to your nose! He would sit on my shoulder like a parrot and never scratch and I could also drape him across my shoulders like a scarf or stole. He was a great cat...I miss him so much :(

.

That is for sure. I love these strange and fascinating creatures myself. We have four. Each one is strange in his or her unique way. The strangest is our foundling who we got from a friends of felines shelter a year ago. She is really quite beautiful, about three or four years old (so thought the vet), and looks part Maine Coon. When they brought her out of the vet's office where she had just had her shots she was very unfriendly...hizzing and trying to bite. We decided to take her home on a trial basis. Every time we approached her she reacted with hostility. I put her in our spare bedroom away from our other cats with her own food and water. There is also a nice rug covered window sill in there for her to look out. I decided to try sleeping with her a few days. She didn't warm up for the longest time and I thought we would take her back. Then I just sat quietly on a chair in there and said nothing. Suddenly she came running toward me, jumped on my lap, and butted heads with me.

As time as gone on she has become much more approachable and loves affection especially if she is the one who gives it first. She is very strong and dominant not like my other big, furry, lap babies. Her strangeness with time and love has turned into charm. We are still careful not to surprise her suddenly. I think maybe she had been abused or treated badly before she got lost in the woods or else maybe abandoned. She is home now and trusts us. Actually follows me all over the house and sometimes sleeps in our bed.

I also prayed a lot about her and I think God took notice. He is so good! :amen:

Hi, my name is Pam and this is my first post! I rescue animals, and have seen many strange cats...you mention he had a small head, in my experince this cats suffer from some sort of mental retardation. This past year was unusal I got in several kittens with really large heads, two had seizures and later died...sad...one just was acting normal and curled up on the couch and died. Vet said it was a type of birth defect, and there wasn't much hope for them..so I felt good at least they were loved, for the little time they were on this earth.

I'm glad your kitty has someone to love him! Does he act normal in other areas?

I had a cat that I rescued that love to eat strange foods...his favorite was saurkraut..lol...he would attack you for it, I had to give him his own bowl; just to be able to eat my dinner...lol..

Well, I look forward to getting to know ya'll and your critters..bye ...and God Bless ...Pam...

My cat Tygh likes drinking condensation off of glasses or bottles, and out of the faucet. Also likes licking ice cubes.

When he was a kitten, I could hold him up to the wall and he'd "walk' up it, and then across the ceiling.

And he 'claws' at the glass almost like it's a scratching post.

I have 2 very crazy cats!!! :) Smokey & Bandit, they are sisters and are 10 years old.
They will go into hiding anytime we have company unless it happens to be one or two people that they remember as kittens.
Smokey will not wear a collar, she totally freaked out the first time we tried putting one on her, and occasionally she will attack our legs or Bandit for no reason at all!:)
She is also totally afraid of plastic bags for reasons unknown to us!!:)
They are both inside cats, and have never had any desire to go outside! If you open the door they will poke their heads out a little bit, but have never tried to go out!
I sure don't understand them sometimes!!:)

My cat (Zac) has a white ring at the end of his tail. This is pretty normal for a tabby but he is black and white/tabby. He has the markings and parts like tabbies do but he's also black and white! He has a brother named Sam, they are like chalk and cheese. Sam is smaller but he's the bossier one. Sam loves eating spagetti and cakes.

I have a beautiful 7 year old female calico named Mina. She tries to get into the shower with me sometimes, and when I come out she tries to "lick me" dry! She loves to drink water running off my fingers. She is strange but I really love her

I saved up $$$ and bought a Siberian kitten... I really wanted a big boy cat so I finally found one and bought him. Then I found out "he" is a "she" and she is really small! Also unlike most Siberians she's not all that friendly... she loves me but nobody else!

She is funny though... really a tomboy and when I first brought her home I thought she'd be scared of my big dogs, but she ran up to the big male one (110 lbs) and threw her arms around his neck!! To this day she has a huge crush on him... whenever he walks into the room, she bounces around on her hind legs like Tigger and makes these "OOGIE BOOGIE!! " faces at him like she's trying to scare him. She thinks he is the coolest toy ever.
