• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Along with the 'normal' symptoms of bipolar I suffer constantly from overly sensitive feet and tingling pains inside of my head. Is there anyone else out there who has these or other strange symptoms?

Have you talked to your Pdoc about this? I have to wonder is it's a side effect of your meds?

As for me, when I have withdrawn suddenly from Paxil (WAYYYYY don't reccomend this!), I get what I call buzzing. It doesn't hurt, but it does affect my equalibrium. I get in in my head and extremities, mostly. Very disconcerting!

I had these symptoms well before I went on any meds.

(Yes I have talked with my pdoc about it but haven't received much clarity on the subject. Just a vague kind of acknowledgement of the fact.)

I have to say I do but, I have Fibromyalgia. This comes with arthritis. My feet hurt so bad I can hardly step on them sometimes. Also, When I wake up, I have to be helped to my feet because the pain throughout my body. But, The tingling goes through my head, arms to hand, and legs, down to my feet. I don't sleep at night because of the pain, it wakes me up and my husband has to wake up to turn my over. Have you said anything to your doctor because alot of meds do that . They make your head tingle and also some meds bother the muscles in your legs and you feel it in your feet. Hope you find out soon! Peace and GOD BLESS!!! :prayer:

What medication do you take for your bi-polar condition? Are you bi-polar with pyschotic features, that is do you become delusional when you don't take your medications? I am a mental health case manager.

God Bless

I'm on Sodium Valproate for my moods and on Abilify (Aripiprazole) for my psychotic episodes. And yes I'm down as schizo-effective. (I had these symptoms before I went on any medication.)

My mind goes back and forth always with " my children and husband will be so much better without me, all I am is a constant pain to them." And I actually make up excellent reasons as to why I shouldn't be here. I start writing letters to each of my 4 children and then my husband and I have 7 brothers and sisters and my mom is still living. By the time I get to writing to each child, I'm hysterically crying. ( I also have physcotic episodes ) Anyway, My meds are serequel for Physcotic episodes and for the bi-polar I have Trimictal. It takes a long time to get up to the amount of miligrams your supposed to be on but, I have Never felt "I"M BACK!!" like I do with these meds! I hope this helps. Oh, certain meds ( even depressants make you more suicidal).Peace and Love.. GOD BLESS you always!!! Zita123:hug:
