In early November 2017 an Amtrak train operator found a body on the tracks outside Baltimore who authorities later identified as YouTube star James “Stobe the Hobo” Stobie. Stobe was an artist and played the piano for all his videos. His cinematography and film editing, commentary and vocabulary, and his perspectives, were a true art form. James, Stobie... I was researching JB Hunt, which owns around 100,000 intermodal containers. The new intermodal rail system allows for these containers to be shipped by rail double stacked. It was from researching the rails with the intermodal design traveling cross country that I ran across YouTube star James “Stobe the Hobo” Stobie. James pulled time in the Coast Guard and was a great piano player and entertainer. It was through these videos that I was searching the intermodal travels. James, unfortunately, had a great love for train hopping, which also gave him free travel. Disadvantages....
1. This was illegal
2. This was dangerous
James spent his last videos expressing concern about being busted, which would have been merciful had he been arrested. It looks like in early November 2017, while train hopping in Baltimore, which may have been icy, that he lost his footing and fell to his death.
James would sometimes show footage of Christian missions, in which I wish he had joined and used his skills to promote the Christian message.
