The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Praise the Lord!!!!WTG My hubby quit Jan 2006 , know how hard it is to resist! God Bless!!I am so glad I quit smoking July 1. I am saving a lot of money and I am helping my health. I have also gotten rid of a horrible obsession that was driving me crazy. I used to smoke every 10 to 15 minutes at the end. I am grateful to be smoke free. Yay!

Thank you. You can quit them both. But do one before the other, is my advice. I quit drinking May 22 and quit smoking July 2. I feel a lot better and am not coughing.great job! I have faith I will quit too, I just have to be patient. I also am struggling with quitting alcohol as well as smoking.....then I come across a thread saying you have to drink alcohol to be saved! lol
You can do it, too. With the patch it was so easy for me. Good luck to you.Excellent!! I hope that I have the determination that you did/do.
Good thinking!!Thats wonderful. I still sometimes have days when I think for a minute maybe ... then I realise that I never want to go back to that way of living
