Steampunk bands

I recently ran across Abney Park. I never knew there were any Steampunk bands until I saw them. Many of their videos are available on youtube. Do you know of any other steampunk bands?

Never heard of them. Never even heard of the genre. I'm intruiged though.. thanks for sharing this group with us. The music itself is very beautiful to me, but the guy's voice is hard to get over. I don't love it. I almost wish he'd kind of shhhhh....

I might check out some other artists though..

Strangely enough, just saw a band being advertised as steampunk earlier this morning. Lemming Malloy is their name.

I love Abney Park! ^__^
Though in music I doubt that anything can be described as "steampunk", it's rather more about their image because musically it can still be put under another category right? [industrial with symphonic elements in case of Abney Park? or I don't know]

Other bands that you might like that are steampunkish: The Clockwork Dolls, Vernian Process, they both are very enjoyable to listen.

me and my friend were just looking up a bunch of steampunk bands.
the ones I found and liked were
The Magnificent 7
Dr. Steel
The Paryls
Tragic Tantrum
The Cog Is Dead
those are all the ones I remember =]

Never heard Steampunk as anything other than a literary genre. I'll have to check em out later.

Steampunk is a worldwide movement that has been around since the early 80's and has hundreds of thousands of people who are involved in it, including many Christians. In fact there are Christian musicians out there as well. The Cog is Dead, is a family who are all devout Christians whom love the genre, and have even designed there houses and studio in Victorian steampunk fashion. Steampunk is actually in everyday things, like decorations, movies, television, etc... people just don't know it. In Washington State there are over 15000 steampunk members, and in California there is about 25000 and in Florida about 20000, just to name three state, and thats just looking at the US alone. It is to see it when people aren't aware of such big happenings going on around them. :-D Steampunk is victorian artistry and simplicity, within a modern technological society. An a LOT of Christians love it, including my family. God Bless you all, and long live steam.

I went to a Steampunk concert last year and saw Abney Park, The Vernian Process, Unwoman and another band I can't remember at the moment play.
It was amazing.
Mind blowing.
It was even Cthulhu themed!

Have you checked out Insomniac Folklore?
They have played at Cornerstone a few times. They play sort of Steampunk/Folk/Gypsy music.

I love Vernian Process and Abney Park. The Cog is Dead must be a relatively new band- but I was looking them up. Not bad.

I of course know what steampunk is, but never knew there were steampunk bands... soon as I read the title of this thread I thought "Jethro Tull".
