If a church denomination officially teaches erroneous views of salvation (as taken from its founders and prophet), wouldn't that view be part of the teachings of Babylon - in the cup of the woman of Revelation 17-18?

17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Wouldn't it be moronic/suicidal to stay in such a church?

(Of course, I don't believe such is the case for SDA's...but some do.

I'm not sure what you're on Nighteternal, but here's my view on the matter Your neighbour.

I think that if you know the church you're in is teaching a doctrine that isn't Biblical and you know it you should leave..and study and look for the remnant church yourself with the Bible.

As you quoted in Revelation 18:4, this I see as the most crucial part to understand

Revelation 18:4 said:
Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins,

If you know it's wrong yet you stay part in that church, you accept the sins it commits. Yet if you leave as soon as you know the truth you don't sin. If you do sin by staying in that bad church there is still forgiveness, such as promised in 1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrigteousness"

That's is currently though, because that call in rev 18:4 is a last call, whoever dosn't heed that warning has their fate sealed. As in the days when there will be the true church of God and the antichrist church. When that day is here you cannot change churches!!

That's my view from what the Bible says, hope it helps.

Dathen, please show me one church that has 100% flawless, correct doctrine and a belief system which never has and never will need reconsideration, further study or is that is not progressive in nature. There is not a single one. There are, however, churches that have more correct doctrine than others.

There is also a big difference between outright false doctrine and underdeveloped, immature doctrine that can be easily corrected where necessary. Such is how I regard the salvation theology of Adventism.

For the record, I have never regarded the Adventist church as 'Babylon'. That is inflammatory rhetoric which comes from the diseased mind of one who will remain nameless. He seems to have no problems pummeling others with the law while bearing false witness by misrepresenting what I believe.

Dathen, you're still young. Don't buy into the arrogant, inquisitional, dogmatic, black and white, all or nothing thinking of the fundamentalists. We know which church that sort of mentality is famous for.

Let's leave it there and not allow it to pollute our denomination.

Critcism excepted. I should of used better wording. This is my correction.

You should leave if something is defenitely, absolutely apauling. Every church is full of problems, and some error (Satan works even harder to stop people noticing the real church of God, he causes much strife in there.)I agree and have to stand corrected there nighteternal. A better wording would be, if you know a church that obeys the Bible even more so than the church you currently attend you should change.

I didn't come a SDA, to become an SDA. I chose adventism because my research showed it is the closest to the Bible. Currently I am reviewing that study as I talked about in the new thread, The Remnant Church!

God Bless.

This is a abuse of the rules, calling people moronic, stupid, suicidal, even if using this ruse of a question. This is allowed for anyone that attacks the church, suppose for example I was to say "Wouldn't it be that only "gays/sexual predator" remain priests in the ...... church", how long would that remain up....it would not be allowed. Yet this poster has done just as bad and worse and still no action has been taken......

Where's the evidence? Is a mere accusation good enough to condemn nowadays?

Night, you crack me up. You're the one that loves to go on and on about how the mods are very liberal around here and you love how people get to say what they want to here....but when you think someone is attacking YOU or someone you care about, the mods need to intervene?

Come on.

My choice of wording would've been a lot different than Your Neighbor's, but the message is still the same.

If you don't believe in your church's doctrine...why stay? Why try to take people out of it with you instead of leaving quietly?

There's a lot of things that don't make sense on this forum, but other things are crystal clear.

Definitley agree. Just because a church has different doctrine does not make it a dangerous cult. You seem to be getting attacked a lot.
