• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I seem to be going through a complex identity crisis, 2 days before my 55th birthday, and a big part of it relates to my diagnosis (autism) my faith (elect of Christ) and what's happening in christendom in America (apostasy?)

But then I read the above referenced document and saw that this isn't really a place for autistic christians to discuss the intersection they find themselves at, and I'd like to condemn that.

It's a place for people recovering from something, and where they aren't allowed to talk about the things the other (NT?) Christians do.

Does anyone here know of an AS christian forum where the posters are not treated like patients, victims, children or recovering from something? Maybe an AS Christian forum set up by AS Christians, for AS Christians? Something that doesn't use a "getting over our sickness" approach would far less patronizing. It could be very empowering, and I wager the posters there wouldn't feel like second neurotype Christians.

I will be very grateful, for it doesn't appear that I belong here. Alternatively, I will be even more grateful for someone to show me how I've got it wrong.

Have you tried googling - I think there may be a Christian Aspie facebook page?
But isn't it a good idea for aspies to not only have their own space, but to also try and engage with the non- aspie world? (I speak as the wife of an aspie)

This forum, RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW! And I've got no fear of calling out anyone who tries any of this crap. I'm not an admin, but that rubbish has no place here, if this forum really is about ASD and the Faith.

As the grandfather of an aspie, and a possible undiagnosed aspie myself, I would totally agree with that.
