Oh, how I love the Wilderness, Wesley!!! That beautiful place where we walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death... where Christ is the Lilly of the Valley!
During these 'wilderness times', God is stretching you and molding you and causing you to be a stronger and better-tuned Christian. It is not IF but WHEN you come out on the other side; because you will come through to the other side. The question is what kind of Christian will you be?
Delight in your wilderness experience. This is the time when God seems inaccessible; however, it is the time when He is working on you the most.
James 1:2-4
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Psalms 119:71-72
It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
Romans 5:2-5
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
