started a novel

Well..Ive always written...and have many novels STARTED..but this is my first christian one..
If anyone is interested in reading so far, Id really like some input..

Ooh fun! I've always been kinda cautious about writing Christian novels, cause I don't know how well they'd be accepted by non-Christians. Whats yours about?

I'm not one to belittle Christian fiction, but there are some I simply cannot read. A book that is meant to be read for enjoyment should never preach. If a Christian ideal is integral to the plot, than fine, however, try not to reiterate the same point over and over as if you're trying to teach the reader. I can't stand that, regardless of the validity of the sentiment. I feel that you underestimate the reader in doing so. Just let them take it in stride. And if, as I try to, you do want an atheistic reader to remain interested, then show them the Christian life, not Christianity in itself, because that is open to interpretation on their part. Show them that Christians are still people.

I hope I helped, but my lengthy tirade may have missed the point entirely. If I did, tell me I'm an idiot. I'd hate for your call to go unanswered.

I do not worry about how any of my writing really is taken by believers or non because I have always written what I feel needs to be written and what God lays on my heart to. I write because I am a writer, not because there are people who read. I know sometime, somewhere, somehow, my writing will touch someone's life..and that, to me, is worth 100 bad reviews over an over.

Silver saint- I do not know quite how to take your words....I think I am understanding you right, and if I am, I agree. My novel is a story..just that...not a self-help or rule book...It is to portray the difference of a christian and non christina life, for non believers, and for believers, it gives hope in time of struggles...I hope lol..it is what I am aiming for it is a work in progress tho..If it would bother you to read, I will not post a link Thank you for replying honestly tho..

Also, I hope that you can tell, but I am far from concerned about offending people. Truth is offensive to most. If it weren't, there would be no need to grow. I hope that your novel is coming along better than mine.

I am not offended in the least I respect honesty.
At this point I hope it is coming along good at all :o I have heard very good things but all from people I know so they may just say to to'please' me...I would like it if you would read because you are honest, and I can learn,...
