In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is my favourite film ever. I thought it was fantastic and i have watched it tonnes of times. The story for one is excellent, by the way for those that dont know it, In 1928 on the Gize Plateau, near the Great Pyramids, an ancient device is found underneath the ground and this is no ordinary device, this device holds the key to our universe. In steps Daniel Jackson who is a scientist who is the ony one who knows how to decipher the ancient writing on the device. This device ends up being a 'Stargate' which enables people to cross the universe thus being a gateway to the stars. So daniel gets together with some marines to go through the stargate. They activate it and go through to find themselves on a 'desert' planet in which primitive people live. After this follows the story of these people and the marines and stuff and bad guys appear and fighting and so on and so forth.
The characters in the film are also very good, they are played very well and there is some humour between the characters throughout the film. I have always loved Egypt and anything to do with it and plus the fact that science fiction elements are placed into the movie made it very good.
