  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

so does anyone know what is canon in the clone wars era of the star wars universe how does it match up to the cartoon network series? i heard the movie takes place after the series so they both are.

In this Anakin is a knight and has a padawan of his own but it also gives his age at 20. This means that any stories that refer to Anakin as Kenobi's padawan have to be compressed into a 1 year (12 months our calander 10 months GFFA calander) Which if you see all the books comics and the other clone wars cartoon is a lot of stuff to happen in a very short space of time. If it hadn't given Anakins age it wouldn't have been to bad but as they do it's given lots of people major headaches.

I wasn't really excited about this one but my two boys were so we saw it. I have to admit I enjoyed it. Maybe it was my lack of excitement or low expectations but I thought it really worked well as an animated addition. Had this been delivered as a live action movie it wouldn't have worked.
I think the best part about the whole thing was it doesn't take itself so seriously! The last three installments suffered because it was all delivered in such a serious manner (who will ever forget "Anakin: You are so beautiful. Padme: It's only because I'm so in love. Anakin: No. It's because I'm so in love with you. Padme: So love has blinded you? Anakin: That's not exactly what I meant. Padme: But it's probably true.") YEESH.

This one has fun with itself and, overall, it works.

I am now actually looking forward to the animated series on television.

maybe there is a thread on the small screen forum but I enjoyed the two premiere episodes on CN friday. I really appreciated how Anakin is more likeable, is trying to do right and isn't such an agst-ridden dweeb that he was in the live action films.

I think I can speak for SW fans as a whole that we didn't really care at all about the big screen Anakin, which we should have been endeared to as much as Luke.

I also appreciated the attitude the jedi have (so far) to the clone troopers. They care about them and see them as individually valuable, which makes the following of their "Order 66" command seem that much harder to stomach.
