This is one I'd like to take my teenage siblings to see, is there very much content I should be worried about?
The lens flaring does bother some people. But I like it.Some of the 3D scenes made my wife a bit nauseous.

The theater was packed, but my favorite seat top row center was there waiting for me!I'm waiting for the crowds to die down so I can go when there's a less crowded matinee opportunity. I don't like to watch a great movie in a sardine can environment.
Love the Star Trek franchise.

I was late with my first viewing, but I did see it twice! You're a little late, bro, I went to see it two weeks ago.
I agree with you it really is something. I thought the graphics were incredible.

I'm an old skool Trekkie too and I have my signed pic of Scottie. You have to keep in mind this is a complete reboot and has nothing to do with the previous shows. Once I got that thru my head after seeing the previous one, I was much happier. It's loosely based on the original. As an original Trekkie I have to say I an disapointed.
The 3D just is not worth it to me- not enough scenes to warrant it plus the rim of the cheap glasses keep bringing me back into the theater.
I do not want some rehashing of old stories but background and complimentary info to fill in gaps. This director was not a trekkie/ trekker of his own and it shows that he only watched past series. Some how he missed the story of Pike.
Do not get me wrong--as a die hard trekkie ( even met "Scottie") I recommend the movie as it is a great distraction. I just do not like wondering why they did not fix things by the end of the movie ( other than the lead-ins for the next).
Would like more tech stuff put in too (such as background etc on it too.)
GO!
Me too!I really enjoyed it as well. I've seen it twice already.
