It's probably malted bread you're having there. There's generally a lot of syrup in malted bread so it's sweet and sometimes a bit gooey. I must say I make a mean loaf of it, but I drag the malt with me from Finland. Still trying to find a place here that carries similar.I love pumpernickel bread. Anyone up for a mudslide, Michael style? The only vodka I have in my house is Three Olives Cherry Vodka, which doesn't work with a mudslide. I know, I can hear Fr. Vasily right now: "What no vodka in house? Was it no vodka in house in 19th century Russia? IS OUTRAGE!!!" So, I made the mudslide using Breyers Vanillabean icecream, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlua, and Frangelico. YUM!
