Overseas, that's the generic slang term for everyone from the United States. Hurts, I know... I'm proud to be a Southerner (I have ancestors who fought in th' war of nawthurn aggresshin), but I don't mind being called a Yank(ee) too much, since they're just trying to identify me as an American.

I'll have chocolate chess pecan pie with plenty of whipped cream and once again, because of the hour - thanks Greg for the option - make it a decaf.

I've finally got room in my stomach after eating Viener Schnizel, red cabbage, Bratwurst and saurkraut at the liederhosen hosted Eidelweiss restaurant with my dh, who's too tired to dance. Make his a caffeine laden double espresso.

Ok, can anyone beat me for the worst weekend, so far? My youngest son has been, uh, I'll be polite since everyone is eating pie, "getting sick" every 2 hours around the clock since Friday 11pm. Oh, the joys of motherhood

That war was 150 years ago, 50 years prior to half my family coming to the U.S. I think it is time all of you southerners who still talk about it like it happened a decade ago get over it.

BTW In Germany they do not call Americans "yank's" they call us Ami's.
