I guess this is the place to post this thread. I miss Workshop. :sigh: Anyhoo...

This is a quote from Charles Spurgeon concerning Sunday School:

"To teach our children is a personal duty; we cannot delegate it to Sunday School Teachers, or other friendly aids, these can assist us, but cannot deliver us from the sacred obligation; proxies and sponsors are wicked devices in this case: mothers and fathers must, like Abraham, command their households in the fear of God, and talk with their offspring concerning the wondrous works of the Most High." - Charles H. Spurgeon

What do y'all think? Any comments?

I agree, to the extent of sometimes Sunday School is all a child has to teach them about God.

I mean, not every child is blessed enough to have parents that believe in God or are willing to give up "sleeping in" on Sundays so that they can take their child to Sunday School and church.

I can at least say whenver (if) I have kids, I intend for me and my husband (if I get married) to be the main source of teaching them all about God...and to have Sunday School as a reinforcment of the teaching.

But that's just me...

We have a high school sunday school at my church, and it's the greatest.  We worship and study and grow and out reach.  My youth group helped 110 kids come to Christ this weekend.  It shouldn't be the only thing, but it should be there.
