I just got back from my spring break, and it was awesome! I was in New York City with Campus Crusade for Christ in a program called Urban Immersion. We had a prayer table in the subway, did outreach at Columbia University, worked in a soup kitchen, and spent hours with elementary school students in an after-school program. The whole trip was a tremendous blessing and gave me much more confidence in sharing my faith and gave me a heart for volunteering.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I went on a missions trip to New York a few years ago. It was AWESOME!! We did some prayer walking in the Red Hook district and did some dramas on the streets. There was a church in the Red Hook district where we were basically running out of. Long Island U. put us up in one of their dorms. We were mainly dealing with kids in the inner city. Easily the most rewarding(and most memorable) week of my life...

that's awesome, i just got back from spring break too, and we also went to new york! i went out east with habitat for humanity, and we built in norrington, pennsylvania. we also went to philedelphia. i had the time of my life!
