How far is too far when it comes to speaking about God/Jesus? Like if there is someone you know who isn't a Christian, what good would saying "God bless you" to them with the mouth rather than in silent prayer from in secrecy where only the Father can see?
When some persecutes you, should I not say anything about God to them and just go pray for them in silent?
The bible says a lot about Christ wanting us to "spread the news" but is there a limit or a certain place and time and appropriate way about doing it? As Jesus himself had to speak in parables, and I myself struggle to understand many parables let alone create them.

Speak at the Spirit directs you to speak. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit & went out in the power of the Holy Spirit, speaking boldly. The apostles did the same. They were different with the indwelling Spirit leading & guiding them, speaking boldly of Christ & the resurrection.

We are commanded to preach repentance & belief in the gospel for the forgiveness of sins TO EVERY CREATURE (every person). That is the Great Commission but that is done by obeying the Great Commandment as well. One time I had my neighbor cleaning the lower part of the house I was living in, as they were moving. His dad always swore around me & Ed would try to share that I was a Christian & not use that language but he did anyway.

The Spirit told me to fix a meal for them while they were cleaning downstairs. I didn't know they hadn't brought anything to eat but the Spirit did. When I prepared a meal for them, Ed's dad was so impressed that he didn't swear around me from that day on.

We are both to witness verbally with the 'Good News' & also to love our neighbor as ourselves, often giving us a platform that opens the door for speaking the word of truth. Sometimes it is both at the same time. We should be filled with & led by the Holy Spirit--as He is the One who convicts the world of sin & righteousness & judgment.

2 Tim 4:1-5 In the presence of God & the Messiah Jesus, who is going to judge those who are living & those who are dead & in view of His appearing & His kingdom, I solemnly appeal to you to proclaim the message. Be ready to do this WHETHER OR NOT THE TIME IS CONVENIENT. (be INSTANT in season & out of season) Refute, warn, & encourage with the utmost patience when you teach.

3For the time will come when people will NOT tolerate healthy doctrine, but with itching ears will surround themselves with teachers who cater to their people’s own desires. They will refuse to listen to the truth & will turn to myths. But you must be clear-headed about everything. Endure suffering. Do the work of an EVANGELIST. Devote yourself completely to your ministry.

I Cor 9:16,17 Yet when I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am obligated to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach because I want to, I will be rewarded. But even if I don't want to, it is STILL something God has sent me to do (entrusted me with).

Philippians 1:12-20 Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard & to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And most of the brothers, confident in the Lord by my chains, now more boldly speak the word without fear.

15It is true that some preach Christ out of envy & rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. The former, however, preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can add to the distress of my chains.

18What, then, is the issue? Only that in every way, whether by false motives or true, Christ is preached. And in this I rejoice. Yes & I will continue to rejoice, because I know that through your prayers & the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, my distress will turn out for my deliverance.

20I eagerly expect & hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete BOLDNESS, so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

What if you share the Good News to them but they still curse you? Well...

Matthew 5:44 (KJV) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Good point about the Parables. There is also not casting our pearls before swine.

Don't create parables.

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.Nov 30, 2017

Same for disciples of Jesus....

The best witness to others is how you live your life ... not so much what you say.

When some persecutes you, should I not say anything about God to them and just go pray for them in silent?

Example of "persecution" ?

Also, do you ever share personal things about your relationship with God? Or is that best between you and God only?

Your personal experiences are quite helpful for new or potential Christians, they help to put a modern day face and situation to a given theological stance, or moral story.

But I think we should avoid overdoing it, or sounding self righteous.

I used to use personal situations all the time until someone decided they were in some kind of weird "holiness" competition with me.. At that realization I pulled back on relating personal experience - or so I try - and use the Bible more and personal situations less these days...

Everything I say has a correlation to a Biblical maxim usually so it's fairly easy to avoid overuse of personal situations... but I DO think they absolutely have their place..

As for sharing Christ with the lost, only do so when it's the appropriate time and place.

For instance, the difference between at proselytizing at work versus over dinner when the topic of faith comes up.

You can always allow others to know your faith, but right time, right place for religious discussion has better impact if your truly interested in teaching them something of Christ.
