  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just take me out to the ballgame! I'm very analytical by disposition, so the last thing I want is an avalanche analytical commentary and cameras detailing to the nth degree. Let me relax, show the game to me, the full smell of it--not the "Did you know that Joe Shmoe is the first green biped to give us a hand-scooped snag of Texas-leaguer that was hit toward right field at 18:01 GMT, in the last year of a western division's stadium's existence, while there were earth tremors in Dubuque, Iowa!"

My least favorite analysis is the strike zone shown after a pitch. And to top it off, it isn't really the regulation zone, just a miniturized version to coddle to the aid and abet the batter mentality.
