I can't pray even when I want to. It's been a long time since I prayed. I feel so desperate. whenever I try to prayer or read bible or go to chruch I don't keep it for a long time. I feel like God.and the holy spirit has abandoned me. I feel like I'm in room with darkness surrounding me and doors are closed and I can't reach to God. Actually I can't find words to describe what I'm feeling.

Have you ever tried keeping a prayer journal? Write out your prayers like you would write an email or a letter. The keep a list of each chapter you read each day. Work on trying to be as consistent with it as you can even though it might not be much.

Mary really sorry you are going through this period. But glad that you are looking for Christian advice.

When those thoughts start, encourage you to immediately focus on Scriptures such as:

- God loves you with an everlasting love (John 3:16-17, Jer 31)
- God promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Deu 31:6)
-The spirit of God made you, and the breath of the Almighty gives you life. Job 33:4
- you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psa 139:13-14)
-..even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Luke 12:7 (btw, that number is constantly changing)
-The Lord says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer 29:11
- God is great, majestic, gracious, full of compassion, good to me, +++++ Psa 145

Repeat as needed. Say aloud I am The Lord's!
