  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I keep hearing folks say there are different levels of faith and anointing. If this is true, then can two Christians with 2 different walks with Christ be on the same level? Can it be measured? Are the levels like 1, 2, 3...etc? If someone were to tell me, "That person is on another spiritual level." I would say, "What level is that?" They would respond, "They faith is on a higher level."

My wife and I have went back and forth on this. Her momma is a minister/prophetist (sp?). She's says they are on 2 different levels. I asked her if that meant she could catch up and be on the same level as her mother. She said probably not. Can someone help me with some scripture? I don't mean to probe but I have questions

super_mog,
Christians differ by degree on maturity levels. For a simplistic example, if one Christian verbally slanders another salted with curses while a second Christian shows patience and kindness, then the second Christian is definitely more mature than the first. A mature Christian isn't perfect, but will be more consistent in showing the fruit of the Spirit than an immature Christian.

On a faith level, Christians are all the same. The Bible says those who have the faith of a mustard seed - a very small seed - are saved. Some people may trust God more than others in certain situations, such as a job loss or natural disaster, but again the difference is only degree and not "levels." That is because someone who is supposedly "walking in faith" on a different level may yet stumble in an area, and where will they be then? Back on the same level as the rest of us...

There are only spiritual levels of maturity / growth / read that discipline.

Hebrews 5:12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

There is also spiritual calling according to one's gifts (from God) Apostles (who died out when the Apostle John died) teachers, helpers, prayer warriors (don't under estimate them) and so on. But no uppity up "class" or "annointed cliche" whatsoever. We are all directly accountable to God as priests under Jesus the High Priest.
