  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This will be a short post saints :). I trust that the Lord had been keeping and prospering all of you. We tend to view prayer as a means of communicating with the Lord, having our requests answered, and needs met (Matthew 7:7, Philippians 4:6). However, if we limit prayer’s utility to just having our needs met then we’re missing the bigger picture.

Please turn with me to Matthew 6:10. This is the familiar Lord’s Prayer. One verse stands out in that whole prayer, i.e., “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” So as you see saints, prayer is to unleash God’s will on this earth. It may surprise many, but one of the reasons for the delaying of the Lord’s second coming is a lack of kingdom moving prayer from saints (Matthew 18:18-19). Satan rejoices when our prayers are hindered or disrupted (1 Peter 3:7) because he knows that prayer is God’s ordained way to unleash His cosmic power and will on earth (2 Kings 6:17, John 14:16, James 5:18).

The Lord Jesus is an exemplary example of tapping into God’s unlimited power and facilitating the Father’s will through prayer. He spent the entire night praying before making important decisions like choosing the twelve disciples (Luke 6:12), performing spectacular miracles like walking on water (Matthew 14:23), and before His crucifixion (Matthew 26:36-56). The Lord understood that prayer was more than communion with God, that it was God’s ordained way of setting into motion His will and purpose on earth.

Today the church is powerless because it’s become devoid of prayers and has become caught up in the activity of doing things (Luke 10:41-42) as opposed to praying that God will unleash His omnipotence to do that which He had already accomplished. God will not act without the prayers of His saints (Matthew 9:37-38). Are we advancing the kingdom of God like the Lord through a spiritual blitz (Matthew 16:19, Matthew 11:12-13) or are we engrossed in having our own prayers answered? I pray it’s the former.

I’ll avoid the usual footnotes and keep it short. It's time for the saints to retake our heavenly Father's kingdom from the devil and rule over it (Daniel 7:18). Peace in Christ, saints :).

Amen!

And let's not forget to keep ourselves pure and righteous (in His righteousness and not in our own), so He will hear our prayers. (Proverbs 15:29, 1 Peter 3:12) And to keep praying according to His perfect will (James 4:3, 1 John 5:14-15), led by His Spirit. (Romans 8:26, Ephesians 6:18)

If we do, we will see God's will be done and His Kingdom come.

Or maybe the delay is due to inaction.

2Pet 3:11,12 You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.

And not only with regards to godly living, but also the preaching of the gospel.

Mt 24:14
this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

For about the first 1500 years Biblical Christianity had been replaced with Catholicism. The gospel had been lost. Some recovery in the reformation, but due to Calvinism not much evangelism was done. It was only in the last 200 years that people got back to Bible and great missions movements occurred.
