  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are the specific Spirit-active works, referred to in John 10: 37-38, that conclusively reveal the full divinity of Jesus?

Woldeyesus,

I have never heard the term 'Spirit-active works' before. I checked the chapter you referred to and there are no specific works mentioned.

Jesus had said he was the Son of God, and the people were going to stone him. He asked them, "I've done many good works. Which good work do you stone me for?" and they told him they were going to stone him for blasphemy - calling himself the Son of God.

Jesus then told them that if they would not believe him at his word, to look at his good works and believe. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, raised the dead, walked on water, comforted the mournful, and loved everyone. These were the works only God's anointed prophets had done before. Still they would not believe the works either.

John 10
37. Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work. 38. But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”

Thanks for your observation!

I submit the "Spirit-active works", par exellence, as the baptism in the Holy Spirit, without which no flesh and blood can ever know, believe in and confess the full divinity of Jesus (John 10: 37-38).

This is altruistically intimated in Christ's two absolute rights of giving up his life and taking it back (Ibid,10: 17-18).

For our blessings, this is personally verifiably. AMEN.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; (Mat 10:37 NRS)
and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Mat 10:38 NRS)

Love for God must come first before anything or anybody. We must follow and do everything that Jesus did while in the flesh. We must crucify all things of the world and the flesh that are not necessary for us to exist.

The full divinity of Jesus is found in the many miracles and sayings that He did.
