What outlasts life? Even the rocks crumble and become sand. The oceans and seas continue to change with evaporation and precipitation, nothing stays the same in the physical realm. So, what outlasts life? William James the brilliant philosopher came to the conclusion that life is best spent for something that outlasts it. So he believes that there is something beyond life, and there is. It is eternal life. Each one of us has this eternal life in us, it is not the physical flesh and bones that we use to get around with, it is the spirit or spiritual part of our being. To invest our earthly time in eternal time seems practical, since we will experience it eternally. We believers who accept and understand eternal life, heaven, the hereafter, and life after death, should invest our earthly time in helping others accept and understand eternal time. This is the best way to spend your life. What outlasts life? Jesus Christ and the gift given to us by the finished work of the Cross, that we may spend eternity with our Father in heaven. We will never receive a greater gift, and we can never give a greater gift than to share the love of God with others.
