  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi All,

Jesus said...

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Does that ever worry you?

It worries me.
Another verse that is along the same lines.

Proverbs 10:19
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

I also worry about this. I try to restrict myself, and pray that I do not open my mouth unless I really have to.

God Bless You All,
Isaia

Most definitely. When one is in unceasing prayer, though, idle words have no place on the tongue.

God Bless :)

Ya, I know I say a lot of careless things. I do try to watch my words carefully and to say things that are meaningful, but I know I don't do well at this. James 3 also warns us about our words. James 3:10 says that we shouldn't ever curse men with the same mouth that we praise our God with. How many times do we put down each other and then go to God in prayer telling him how thankful we are for him? How dare we treat each other as if they were not God's children. Would you call God's Son such things as you call your family when you are angry? But, our family is God's family. He has made us all his Sons, and we should treat them this way.

Yes I worry but I put my faith in the mercy and forgiveness of Christ. I worry much more that I am not doing enough to build up the kingdom of God. I worry I am not doing enough to help stop the slaughter of innocent unborn Children... I will weep bitterly if I get to the gates of heaven and my lord says.

you saw me being rejected and dehumanised, you saw me condemned and killed and you did not do enough.

And I will say lord when Did I see you suffer and he will say when you saw the least of these unborn Children being aborted you saw me.

For the topic on "judge us on our doctrines", I will focus on this......

A determination to know what cannot be known will harm fellow Christians. God has warned that He will take the wise in their own craftiness and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. If we believe God and honor His Word, if we walk by faith in love and obedience, there will be eternal rewards for each of us in that great coming day. Our rewards will differ according to His will because He will make the right judgments for each of us. For teachers/preachers/witnessing or whoever is explaining doctrines to other people. God will judge those who explain false doctrines. James 3:1 "Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." We should be judging ourselves rather judging others. God is not impressed by my appearance (1. Samuel 16:7). The Lord said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord don't make decisions the way you do. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at a person's thoughts and intentions (heart)." (NLT) Another possibility is this: Jesus said in Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Idle words are words that a person speaks but does not believe.:)
