Now is an excellent time for all of us to show true Christian love towards the Catholic members of Christian Forums. Please remember that for hundreds of members here they have just lost their pastor. It is a very sad time for them.

I know that if you went to OBOB to offer condolences and prayer for them that it would be accepted.

I want to urge everyone who reads this to not make negative esctalogical remarks now is just not the time. The staff has it's hands very full right now dealing with a lot of people who are not being decent human beings let alone loving Christians. So I say this to you all my brothers so that you know.

Please take a moment to just check in here and let us know you read this.

I love you and don't want to see anyone getting into trouble.

It's hard to believe that anyone would deliberately hurt people who are in mourning, but I have heard that some posts were very cruel.

I think that during this 9 day mourning there should not be allowed any negivite comments by any posters here. This should be a rule. Just like OBOB did during lent for thier fourm. Someone post a rule up so people know! Lets all show some respect and compassion.

Today in church, my pastor made a wonderful statement that helped me put the death of the Pope into perspective. It helped me understand how much the loss of this man means to over a billion people in the world.

May the God of all comfort reach out to those who mourn.

I think that regardless of your Christian beliefs, history will show the Pope to have been a very blessed man of God, and one of the most important religious and even political figures of our time. He has my respect and admiration. I'm sure Heaven is rejoicing at his arrival!

I'm so happy to see us supporting our Catholic brothers and sisters during this time. Putting aside our many debates and disagreements during this time of morning is the best thing we can do for witnissing, being Christ-like, respect, and as GEL said, compassion, as well as love to others (the great commandment). I kept vigil with FOX news from Friday morning until JP's death. Then I bawled like a baby. I felt like I was losing a grandfather.

Yep, read and agree totally. I have been in prayer for my brothers/sisters in Christ who have lost a great leader and pastor. I will continue to pray.
