Fittingly, the introduction to the midnight praises ("Tasbeha") in the Coptic Orthodox tradition, known in Coptic as "Tentheeno", is a meditation on this:

The Scriptures are certainly correct, but is our interpretation?

Jesus said His sheep hear His voice!
Jesus said His words are spirit and are life!
Jesus said He was sending the Spirit and that the Spirit of God would speak to us and guide us into all understanding!

When I first started hearing from the Spirit of God, it surprised me, because I didn't understand that above. The first words I personally heard were, "READ YOUR BIBLE", and those words hit me pretty hard. It was shocking to me to know that I could actually hear from the Lord. Yet, that is what the Bible told me, that He My Lord would speak to me in words via His Holy Spirit!!!

So it is that I hear words via the Spirit of God spoken directly to me, exactly like the Bible explained!

Still hearing Him speak to me and getting myself to tell others what I hear from Him are two different things! It is written that what you hear whispered in your mouth, shout on the house tops, but He is weird and simply telling people that I hear from God is weird enough. Most people, and it often even seems like most Christians, don't understand about hearing words from the Lord Jesus Christ via the Spirit of God.

So to me, at least, the command to "Open up your lips, and let God's Word be heard" means telling other what He is telling me personally. Today for example, He was telling me "Karl, I am sick and tired of My people not seeking and listening to My kingdom." He went on to explain what he meant by that. The church is His body, and His body, the church, is made up of sick people and tired people because they don't seek His kingdom! It is a kingdom of power, He reminded me, and most Christian don't spend hardly any time seeking His kingdom! He continued by explain that they is more with us that against us, but like the servant of the prophet they only have eyes to see the enemy.

Ok - someone writes to 'Open up your lips' I guess I just did, or did I open up my finger? Anyway, the Lord came preaching a Kingdom, and He is sick and tired (meaning we His body is sick and are tired) because we have not yet figured out that we not only have Jesus Christ, the King of kings, but His kingdom. We have angelic being that serve Him by watching over and ministering to us. (See Ps 91 and Heb 1) So we need to be seeking the kingdom of God and it is written that all those who seek find. So we have ALL not only found the King but the angelic being that serve Him also, right? We have all heard from them ministering to us, right?

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

We Christians are all inheriting salvation, right? So what have the ministering spirits sent by the Lord to you, actually minister to you? What have you heard? Do you have ears to hear?

Heb 1:7 And of the angels He says, "WHE MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE".

Me personally, I like listening to the Lord, and I also like listening to the ministering angles He send to me. The Joy of the Lord is interesting and fun to listen to. It is much better to listen to that spirit than to listen to that demonic spirit of anger or depression. Those could make you sick and tired, but the Joy of the Lord is your strength. We need to know him, and we should since the Lord sends him and others.
