I believe it was Francis of Assisi who originally stated that 'By all means preach the gospel and if necessary use words'.

I like the principle but I fear it doesn't work in our society. Nowadays if you do something positive/helpful/supportive people don't immediately think that you did that in the name of Christ.

Today i feel we need words more than ever - although not exclusively - we need good deeds too.

Lord, give us Your passion for the lost. Grant us boldness to speak Your Word. May we live holy lives that glorify You so You may be seen in us.
May we walk in love toward our brother, for the world will know You have sent Your Son as they see our love for one another. Help us to see beyond our petty problems to see the magnitude of one entering eternity as they leave this earth, to see the horrors of hell, and the glory of heaven.
