What happens you die? Good question. The answer is simple,
You cease to exist- this is what happens when you die
Lets go through the process of what happens when you die:
1) You die
2) Your body becomes lifeless, and returns to the earth from which it came from
3) Your “spirit”/”mind”/whatever else you call it ceases to exist and goes no where.
THAT, my friends, is what happens when you die. Things that do
not happen:
1) You are not transported to heaven/hell/purgatory, in mind or body form
2) You are not reincarnated.
Let us now look at the bible and see if what I say is true or not.
So, if we
were alive in heaven, hell or purgatory (or reincarnated for that matter) we would have knowledge, awareness. We would have feelings, etc, no? Especially if you’re “burning in hell”. I mean, despite the fact that the idea of a everlasting torturous hell
is not true (if you want more info on that just ask) even
if it
were true it in fact
couldn’t work because the bible says
the dead do not know anything.
[bible]Ecclesiastes 9:5-10[/bible]
I mean, if we were in heaven, would we not praise God? Yet, this verse says so otherwise,
[bible]Psalm 115:17[/bible]
The dead don’t praise God. Why? Because, quite simply, they are not aware of anything. Why? They are in a deep sleep- that is the best explanation. You don’t know anything when you’re dead- you just lie there. Not existing. You’re gone. You lie down, until you are later raised when Jesus comes again,
[bible]Job 14:12[/bible]
To further prove this is in reference to Jesus returning, check out this next verse,
[bible]2 Peter 3:10[/bible]
See the verse below. THAT is when we
gain eternal life! When
God comes.
[bible]1 Corinthians 15:51-52[/bible]
[bible]1 Thessalonians 4:16-17[/bible]
Besides, wouldn’t King David be in heaven today by this logic of going to heaven straight after you die? After all, he was good
The bible makes it clear.
King David is
not in heaven!
[bible]Acts 2:29-34[/bible]
Let us
take note. This verse came from the
New Testament. After
Jesus had come.
For those who say that we gained immorality after Jesus came and died- Jesus here had died, and David was still dead!
So let us recap:
> The dead
know nothing
> The dead
are raised again when Jesus comes
> When you die, you just cease to exist
>
King David himself is
dead!!!
And remember, this was all shown through
scriptual evidence.
But wait- maybe my body is dead, you may say- but what about my soul? Doesn’t that keep on living?
It doesn’t. This is not scriptural. The soul isn’t some life force. A soul is a human being in most cases in the bible- and, occasionally, it is referring to something else, but it never says there is anything separate- some living force that keeps on living inside of you even when your body dies. The soul generally means a human being.
[bible]Genesis 2:7[/bible]
So, lets look at this.
A soul was made. So, lets look at
how a soul was made.
1) God formed a body- a vessel- from the dust
2) God breathed into the body to give it the breath of life
3) Boom. These two things
combined to make a
living soul.
So lets see. The way the soul is formed is from two things- it is a body + breath. If there had just been breath breathed into thin air, a soul would not have been formed. If a body had just been formed, a soul would not exist. No, a soul is
body + breath. Ie, a soul is a
living human being. Humans are souls.
So, a soul is,
 A living, breathing human being
A soul is
not
> Your conscience
> Your mind
> Some spirit that lives inside of you
A soul is a human being.
So, if you take one of these things away, a soul
dies. “Spirit” is often times used in reference to breath, or the life, inside of you. So, in this verse, we can see what happens to the soul when the body loses its spirit-ie, life force.
[bible]James 2:26[/bible]
So the body is dead. See? These two need each other to live. Since a soul is a combination of both, you take away one, you kill the other.
So when you die, your soul doesn’t go anywhere, because your soul is killed. Here is what happens to your soul at death:
[bible]Ecclesiastes 12:7[/bible]
The spirit is
breath, and that returns to God, while the body fades away.
Besides- if the spirit were a life force, your mind or something, then this verse would make no sense,
[bible]Ecclesiastes 9:5-10[/bible]
Remember, we know nothing.
Souls die. We are sinners, are we not?
[bible]Ezekiel 18:20[/bible]
We are sinners- and the soul that sin shall
die. Pretty clear, no?
So yes. AGAIN, let us recap what has been
proven from the bible:
> The dead
know nothing
> The dead
are raised again when Jesus comes
> When you die, you just cease to exist
>
King David himself is
dead!!!
> A soul requires a body and spirit/breath to live
> Souls do not go to heaven and await resurrection of the body. They die.
Hope this has been of service to you
